I "grew up" thinking: patriotism, it is the AMERICAN way!
I am glad to see that somebody saved these posters.

What in God's name have we
let happen ?
I guess we are the last generation to see,
or even remember anything like these!
Whatever happened?
It's called.......

Political correctness (or "re-education") happened,
Lack of God's name happened,
Lack of personal responsibility happened,
Lack of personal integrity and honesty happened,
Lack of respect and loyalty to our country happened,
Lack of being an American happened.

Did all of these things die along with common sense?!?

DAV, other VSOs Call for Single, Integrated Outside VA Care Program
At a House Veterans' Affairs Committee hearing on May 13, 2015, DAV, VFW, The American Legion and IAVA called for VA to consolidate all of its outside medical care programs that provide care in the community for veterans, according to a story running in Stars and Stripes.
"There should be one program for outside VA care and it should be simplified," DAV's Joseph Violante told the Committee.
"All of the advocates at the hearing agreed the [Choice] program is still too complicated, with veterans facing different rules depending on their situation and health conditions, and confusion about who is eligible," according to Stars and Stripes.
Stars and Stripes also reported that "Concerned Veterans for America pushed for its own proposal, which would largely privatize VA health care and raise co-pays for newer veterans in exchange for more flexibility to use private care. The VA has rejected the proposal and no other veterans' service organization has supported it."

Op-Ed: DAV, Recruit Military "Build Bridges Between Veterans and Employers
"The gap in connecting veterans to employers is not a lack of skill. It results from a disconnection in translating military experience and skills to civilian job equivalents," argue Peter Gudmundsson and Marc Burgess in an opinion piece running in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal.
Gudmundsson, President of the veterans hiring company Recruit Military, and Burgess, National Adjutant of DAV, write that, "Plenty of employers, while supportive of the military community, lack the experience to understand military culture... And on the flip side, plenty of veterans lack the knowledge to conduct an open-ended job search and explain their skills in civilian terms."
DAV has partnered with Recruit Military to sponsor dozens of "All-Veteran Career Fairs" around the country, to educate and connect veterans and employers.
"We are ensuring that the men and women who stood up for America have the tools, resources and opportunities they need to competitively enter the job market and secure meaningful employment," they write in the Journal-Sentinel op-ed.

Dear Robert,

Veterans face a degree of challenges after their military service. Physical and mental wounds are at the forefront of the minds of many today, but there are other major issues that aren't as prominent.
That's why our Health & Comfort program strives to help veterans in a different kind of way. And last weekend in Miami, DVNF's visit to a homeless veterans stand down event showed just how important that program is.
The beautiful, sunny weather initially seemed like an odd atmosphere for an event for homeless veterans. But as the day progressed, this weather seemed to set an appropriate tone for the veterans who came; they were hopeful.
Our staff handed out items from our Health & Comfort program that included lotion, first aid kits, fleece jackets, and socks. They were also on hand to distribute monetary gift cards to veterans as a gesture of our gratitude.
Any chance you get to participate in an event like this, I encourage you to do so, because volunteer support is crucial to their success of overcoming a difficult life of poverty and despair.
Ride2Recovery Initiative Off and Running!
Our partnership with Ride2Recovery is underway, and with your support, will raise funds to help them purchase new bicycles and adaptive cycles for veterans who are recovering from the mental and physical impacts of war.

As a disabled veteran who has participated in this outstanding program, I can say that it is really a great way to overcome the problems faced after military service is over. The teamwork, camaraderie, and not to mention the exercise, form an experience that heals the mind, body, and spirit of veterans with even the most traumatic wounds.
