Subject: DVNF E-Newsletter: PTSD Awareness Month

Dear Robert,
June has been declared PTSD Awareness Month. This is a call to action to contribute to this worthwhile effort to address this illness that affects so very many of veterans and active duty service members.
One of the tragic parts about PTSD is that more often than not, it will get worse before it gets better. With 22 veteran suicides each day, I think it's time we all do our part to help erase any misconceptions about PTSD, and help veterans realize that treatment works!
I encourage you to visit this page to learn more about PTSD and the many treatment options available. More importantly, pass this on to your family and friends so we can spread awareness and help our veterans get the help they need!
DVNF Attends Patriot PAWS Golf Tournament
On Tuesday, representatives of DVNF were pleased to attend the Patriot PAWS charity golf tournament in Rockwall, TX. Benny Bachand (President), Mike Yates (Treasurer), Doug Walker (Communications Director), and myself joined hundreds of others in the event.
It was there that we presented the organization with a check for $50,000! Thanks to your generosity, we made it possible to ensure that veterans struggling with mental and physical wounds can have a faithful companion to help them overcome the many challenges they face.
Our round of golf wasn't the prettiest site in the world, but fortunately, when we were met with a standing ovation during the check presentation, it made the whole day worthwhile. Again, thank you so much for supporting this initiative. Your compassion will continue to support veterans for years to come!
DVNF Supports the Heart of America Stand Down Foundation With Items for Homeless Vets
DVNF values community-based organizations that provide direct services to veterans in need and do what we can to support many charitable initiatives throughout the nation. This weekend, there will be a stand down event for homeless and low-income veterans in Kansas City.  If you are in the area, we encourage you to consider getting involved in the event!
To do our part, DVNF is sending a large shipment of Health & Comfort supplies like toiletry items and light-weight clothing to support the veterans in the Kansas City region who are struggling to get by. The stand down is expected to draw upwards of 400-500 veterans, so this will be a huge event that will help a lot of veterans!
That's all for now, but again, I want to offer a very sincere THANK YOU to all of our donors and supporters. We have many announcements and initiatives coming soon, so we hope you will help us continue what has already been a stellar year! In addition, check out how you can help veterans to heal through our initiative with Ride2Recovery!
Sincerely,
Joseph VanFonda (USMC SgtMaj Ret.)
CEO
