Subject: Veterans Rediscover Their Strengths

Dear Robert,
With so many veterans in such dire need, a question many people may ask is, "But what can I really do to help them?"
A simple answer to that is: you are helping!
Last year, Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) gave a grant to Easter Seals New York for their NYC Veterans Services program, which supports homeless and low-income veterans in the area to secure housing and employment. They reported that since they received this grant, 65 veterans have secured jobs tailored to their employment goals, and that they expect this number to continue to climb!
One such veteran, Derek*, was an honorably discharged Army veteran who found himself homeless and residing in a local shelter. He was seeking assistance in securing full time employment, transportation assistance, and new skills training.
Due to a joint effort of DVNF and Easter Seals, Derek received all the things he needed and ended up with a full time job at GMC as an auditor, and worked with another community organization to find more permanent housing.
"It is thanks to the generous support of the Disabled Veterans National Foundation that hundreds of veterans are rediscovering their strengths, and successfully finding sustainable employment and a warm home," an Easter Seals representative said.
But honestly, this is all thanks to the support you've offered us.
Sincerely,
Joseph VanFonda (USMC SgtMaj Ret.)
CEO
DVNF
